What a great weekend, with mixed but predominantly good weather for the Bank Holiday. The event kicked off on Friday afternoon with a Somerset Cider Tasting. 80 members enjoyed a presentation of four real farm pressed Somerset Ciders.
The main competition on Saturday morning attracted over 1700 entries of wine cookery and art. With winners of each of the 66 classes taking magnificent trophies home to keep for the year.
The gala dinner on Saturday evening was followed by an evening of dancing entertainment and cabaret. Plus the opening round of our own Strictly Come Dancing Competition
Sunday was extremely busy with the presentation of trophies in the morning. A Tai Chi masterclass, a tasting of Chilean wine by Judith Irwin and John Saunders of the National Guild, followed by some time to enjoy the Keith Box Jazzband before launching into the beer tasting. In the evening the finals of Strictly with "Craig, Arleen and Len" and a fabulous presentation of music from the 60s and 70s by Scott Paige and the Sand Bay Show Team and finally dancng to the small hours in the Harlequins bar.
